My name is Elyse Ainsworth, I’m 25 years old and I live in Western Australia!
I commit to over 30 hours a week, training to be the best I can be in the highly technical and physical sport of sailing. Away from the water, I am often studying at the University of WA as well as working as a major event coordinator, coaching and teaching life saving road safety education here in Perth.
I do my best to bring a unique mix of personality and determination to the sport, in order to get to the top of the field. Away from the achievements and representative honours, sometimes there are disappointments, but you must push through and persevere, because what is elite sport without failure?
Sport is full of passion and I do my best to give it my all. Although frustrating at times, its all about the journey as much as you want to be at the destination! I love sailing, it is not only physically and mentally challenging, but it teaches important life skills such as hard work, determination, resilience and persistence. It also creates great friendships and memories along the way, because no journey should be solo!
Hopefully that journey can be made a little easier with corporate and philanthropic support behind me, on that hard and financially tough path to Paris. I am on the look out for sponsors or donations to help support my journey, as sailing is no cheap exercise.
So whether you stumbled across this website by accident or know me personally, I welcome you all and hopefully you enjoy the ride!
